Black Bull

Located opposite the Town Hall, near the market, this Grade II listed hostelry was built in 1740 and is probably the oldest pub in Brighouse. To the rear, in the middle of the 19th century, there was once a cricket ground. These days this pub is very busy town centre hotel, made particularly lively at weekends by the young. Entertainment consists of live music, discos or karaoke and a large screen television.

Was a local resident and was dressed smart however the bouncer on the door didn’t let me and me 3 other friends in because we was 4 male. I found this rude and complained yet the security was even more unhappy and was angry and threatened leaving us to turn away.

The music used to be buzzing in here but since they’ve moved the dance floor and got a new DJ it’s really not great at all just boom boom boom regardless of requests- such a shame
