Brighouse Park Run takes place in Wellholme Park every Saturday at 9am. If you’re interesting in joining, please register.
What is Parkrun?
- Parkrun is a series of free, community-oriented 5-kilometer (5K) runs.
- These events happen every Saturday morning in various locations – even Brighouse!
- The concept originated in in 2004 as the Bushy Park Time Trial and has since expanded to 2,000 locations in 23 different countries across five continents.
- Over six million people have participated in parkruns worldwide.
Who Can Participate?
- Everybody! Parkrun is open to all, regardless of age or ability. There is a junior Park Run in Brighouse, details can be found at our Events page.
- Whether you’re a seasoned runner, a beginner, a wheelchair user, or someone pushing a stroller, you’re welcome.
- It’s not just about running; you can also walk or even stroll the 5K route.
How Does It Work?
- Register on the parkrun website.
- At the starting line, organizers will go over safety procedures and announcements.
- The route is clearly marked, so no need to study maps beforehand.
- If you want your time recorded, register on the website (only once). You’ll receive an individualized barcode to bring to the event.
