Love the centre and the pool but the water is too cold especially now the weather has turned colder. Puts me off swimming a lot and I love to swim , shame. They really need to turn the temperature up a bit during the cold months.

Confusing. I rung up to ask for gym prices and as a student the lady said it would be under adult and corporate meaning it’s a little less. I rang a couple days ago again to double check this was correct and the lady said although I’m a student if I don’t live in the area I can’t get the offer. I live in Fartown. 10 minutes drive away,… and I do not qualify. I go to purchase a membership which states it is £32 a month. I wasn’t aware of a joining fee until I clicked on the link which was fine. I then saw my total was £53. How it’s jumped from £42 to £53 I do not understand. I think this was due to me purchasing it in the middle of the month and now i somehow am liable for paying an extra £10? This makes no sense and is putting me off from joining. The only reason I was going to go here was because it was £32 for gym/classes and swimming and in huddersfield it was £25/pm but I had to pay parking which would work out too expensive. Now if I wanted to start the gym tomorrow like I planned I have to pay an extra £10 on top of the £10 joining fee? Absolutely ridiculous. I don’t know why they do this but I’m unsure if I’m able to do it now because once again I am a student and already they aren’t offering me the student deal.

Popped into here with a service User , that uses the gym. Nice facility. Just no water Machine. Which was disappointing had to go down to reception and buy one.

Nice clean pool & changing rooms. Prefer the lay out at SB pool & centre but would definitely come here again when I want a change of scenery...

Far better than Kirklees' facilities. The staff are polite, welcoming, and helpful! That makes such a difference to the overall atmosphere, compared to other facilities in the area. The pools are a reasonable temperature and the locker/changing rooms are usually very clean. Unfortunately the showers can be temperamental in temperature, but I think that's being worked on. There's good availability for public swims, unlike many other pools in the area. My only real issues are with the car park, it's quite small. I know that's not really something that can be helped, but it's badly laid out and I feel like some people park in there when they're not going into the fitness centre. I regularly have to drive around waiting for a space to open up, which means I sometimes miss the first part of the swim session. The other reason I can't give it 5 stars is because they don't take cash. It's card only, which is a little annoying. I prefer to pay by cash for a few reasons. The lockers require a pound coin to work anyway, so I have to take both card and cash. I would probably get a membership and use the gym facilities as well, if they were open a bit longer, but I would barely be able to use it with the current opening hours, which is a shame.
