This Wetherspoon pub is an interesting conversion of a Methodist chapel built in 1878. In Autumn 2014 the pub was extended into a later chapel annex not previously occupied by the pub. This room is available for private functions. The main bar area is lit by two chandeliers hanging from an intriguingly decorated ceiling. Organ pipes, pews and even hymn book numbers can still be seen on the upper floor which is not open to the public.

    Wow what can I say. The staff serving are fantastic. They never stop! June in particular is always welcoming and friendly. She works incredibly hard and makes sure any food orders are met with understanding and full knowledge ie- food allergies. Thankyou so much! The food is basic but you get what you pay for. I wish there was more choice for GF. The toilets located in a hallway. They have a carpet that smells very unclean.

    Impressive old building, with high ceilings and a balcony. Wetherspoon pub, with the usual Wetherspoon range of food and drinks 🍸. The food was nice😋 pleasant atmosphere.

    In a nut shell.... I travelled here from North Wales for business...after visiting many venues I always check for cleanliness etc but in Wetherspoons it's not usually an issue and the food is pretty much the same quality in every venue...But as an ex licensee...I do look at the staff in front of house.... These are the pinnacle players in the hospitality trade, they have to be polite and pleasant despite what may be going on in their personal lives...and deal with some customers who can be simply downright awkward, nasty and rude...so it's not easy ..but in this venue today all I can do is totally praise the 3 female staff members I had the pleasure of being served by ..... Not only were they very pretty, well presented and polite...but totally professional in thier roles, Hats off to this Wetherspoons venue, well done to ALL the staff but especially to the wonderful floor girls that are a credit to the company ❤️...kind regards..Mr Peter Evans

    A busy place where the food is mediocre but cheap. You get what you pay for in a place like this...... decent portion sizes at a good price and service without much communication. There are better places a Stones throw away, although Wetherspoons at its best.

    Visited for a breakfast before setting off for a weekend away. Poor start to the weekend, thankfully the weekend did get better from there. The large breakfast was just about ok, despite the long wait. The pancakes and bacon were dreadful. Does the chef not want to be a chef? Would have sent them back but was out of time. As always with Weatherspoons, the drinks are great, a large selection at great prices. The pub itself is great, always clean, and a good atmosphere.
