    My daughter Rebecca and her now husband Darren booked their wedding here on our very first visit. Impulsive you may think, no their instinct was spot on. Everything felt right, the venue, the rooms, the quirky beautiful pub, the location was great for all of the family, but most of all, Lydia, we all agreed she knows this business inside out, and gosh, we were right, we knew the day would run like a dream, and it did. The wedding day came around, and it ran like clockwork, Nothing was missed. The wedding package was perfect, Lydia runs a very tight ship, her team are incredible, they know what is expected, and they deliver. The ceremony room and wedding breakfast tables were stunning, we left specific instructions, and all were adhered to, nothing at all was missed, nothing. The food, where do we start? It was stunning, the portions were big, but we are Yorkshire people so everyone was happy! The canapés were beautiful and plentiful. Presentation was immaculate, service impeccable, courteous and served with a smile. To the very last moment of the evening reception, staff were still happy and smiling. The rooms, again beautiful. The wedding was on one of the hottest weekends of the year, we stayed the night before and Lydia was offering extra fans, or to move us, nothing was too much trouble, she always goes the extra mile. On the day of the wedding, everything ran like a dream. Lydia kept us informed and kept a close eye on timings. She even took all the buttonholes to our bridal party and kindly placed them on the gents jackets, a great personal and lovely touch. We feel very blessed that Rebecca and Darren chose this venue. If you want a venue with first class service, fantastic food, attention to detail, this is the place, don’t hesitate, you won’t regret it.     This was our third time staying at the Black Horse Inn. We often use it as a stopover on our trips through the Eurotunnel, as it can be reached in just 35 minutes. Although the rooms get very warm in the summer, they are still very pleasant for sleeping thanks to good ventilation, a fan in the room, and the cooler night temperatures. The rooms are very spacious, the bed is comfortable, and all rooms are very dog-friendly. The food, both in the evening and in the morning,is incredibly delicious. The only thing to watch out for is when booking via Booking.com with Genius rates: they initially try to charge the regular price, but after pointing it out, the correct price is applied.

    Stayed here Valentine’s Day night and on other occasions previously and was stunning , immaculate , very cosy and couldn’t have asked for more . Beautiful hosts . And a little gem hidden away , I do highly recommend the stay and the restaurant and defiantly worth a visit .

    Lovely historic hostelry. Amazing food served hot and plentiful, the steak pie was just delicious 😋 Good range of beers and pretty reasonably priced.

    Stayed here many times. Food is gorgeous I love the roast dinner!!!!My room came with coffee, biscuits and mini toiletries. Staff are amazing!
