Having been struck off my last NHS dentist during Covid, for reasons unknown, and unable to get on the books of another, I was forced into the world of Private Dentistry. I researched & selected Hewett’s and having got over the cost of my proposed treatment, I have never looked back. Can’t fault the care & service that I received from Shaheer & his assistants Beata & Leah and the same was also true of Essam & Liz & their assistants. The practice is modern & well equipped with everything being well explained and agreed with the patient, leaving me feeling very much at ease throughout my treatment. Being a guy who is beyond retirement age I would just question their strapline, “Professional Affordable Dentistry “, as for all their professionalism is without question, sadly the cost of the treatment will be well outside a lot of people’s budget’s & mine too had Olivia not have kindly set up a 10 month interest free loan. This however does not mean that they are uncompetitive in their profession, it is just that affordable means different things to different people, but I have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Sam and Linda were lovely, and really patient with me. I'm someone with a fear of dentists, and did still panic during my own today, they both were understanding and helped me calm down so it could be done. Also really nice around my fear of needles, and explained what was happening at points. It really helped having nice people. Thank you Sam and Linda 🙂

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hewett's Dental Surgery for a routine check-up, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed by the level of service and care I received. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me with warm smiles and made me feel comfortable and at ease. The facility itself was clean, modern, and well-equipped with the latest dental technology, which immediately instilled confidence in me. The dentist (Dr Seby) was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to thoroughly explain the procedures and address any concerns I had. During the examination, the dentist conducted a comprehensive evaluation and provided gentle, yet thorough treatment. I appreciated the attention to detail and the emphasis on patient comfort throughout the entire process, especially under current pressures and time pressures. Overall, my experience at Hewetts Dental Surgery was exceptional. The combination of excellent service, top-notch dental care, and a friendly staff truly sets this practice apart. I would highly recommend Hewetts Dental Surgery to anyone in need of quality dental care.

First time I had been to Hewetts, and they were great. It was very easy to get an appointment online and quick ones. My Dentists were lovely, very calming and explained everything to me about the treatment I needed and the options I could take. They led me to there lovely colleague who helps with payment plans and she was very patient and gave me lots of advice and options to make me feel at ease. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a new dentist.

Joined this dental practice earlier this month and had my routine first appointment with Dr Kaftan and he was great at keeping me calm. I was nervous attending the dentist as it’s been a long time since I’ve been, however a comprehensive evaluation was provided and I appreciated the attention to detail in terms of photos, X-rays and the actual examination and the emphasis on patient comfort throughout the appointment. If I had left this review after just the first appointment it would have been a 5 star. Hygienist appointment a few days ago was again great in terms of the actual care and procedure and the hygienist was lovely. However, where it has lost stars for me is after I walked in and checked in I was presented with an IPad and asked to sign to say I agree with the treatment plan set out by one of the ladies on reception. My response was ‘what treatment plan there was a discussion at the first appointment but obviously no costs at the time were presented and I haven’t seen anything’. Bit of an awkward moment followed as I said well I’m not going to sign anything until I can actually read what it is you are asking me to sign. Off the lady went to print out the plan which came back at approx of £800 for an extensive scale, plus two fillings due at a later date and then of course there is a follow up hygienist visit in 4 weeks time that will have an added cost (not noted on my treatment plan). It isn’t so much the cost as I’m a private patient so didn’t expect small numbers as this is how practices survive while juggling an NHS v Private client appointments, but working in the legal profession my issue is transparency and the dental plan should be provided to you before you leave your first appointment or before you attend your next one to allow you enough time to decide 1) can you afford the cost and 2) if you want to join the monthly payment service you don’t have a lot of time to think about it between your first and second appointment I think being a bit more upfront at the start would go along way and may determine how and when appointments should be booked by your clients in alignment with pay days etc when there is such a big outlay incoming
