Wellholme Park is a large community park based close to the city centre of Brighouse. Calderdale Council maintain the park which attracts visitors in the summer months due to its colorful gardens.

The park hosts a number of activities including;

  • Bowling
  • Tennis courts
  • Crazy Golf
  • Skate Park
  • Play Area
  • Gym
  • Cafe

Brighouse Swimming Pool is located in the grounds of the park.

    The park has been developed as part of the Brighouse flood defence's and after visiting I can see why. The way they have done it though is really well thought out. Most of the time it will be a lovely green area which is very relaxing to walk around. They have included cycle paths as well so it's suitable for both walkers and cyclists. But during heavy rain you can tell that it will hold a lot of water hopefully preventing Brighouse from being flooded.

    Renovated the area recently and it's a pleasant place to walk (although needs more dog waste bins) and the wild flower area is nice, might be more interesting when rain falls and the stream fills up a bit!! Skatepark (although small!) and play area are what you'd expect. Overall not bad to waste a hour or so with your four legged friend and kids!

    It's the first time we've visited since the flood defences were finished. They've done a brilliant job and the area around the stream is beautiful. The walks are much more interesting and the playground is just as good as it's always been. We'll be back and will probably have a coffee or something in the café next time.
