Clifton

Clifton is a small village just 1 mile outside of Brighouse. It has 2 pubs, The Black Horse Inn and the Armitage Arms. The village school was built in 1870s and is a sunday times top school. It has 214 pupils and was rated by Ofsted as an "outstanding school" with an excellent curriculum.Next to the village is the Willow Valley Golf Club which hosts the Yorkshire PGA championship every June.

At the east of the village is Kirklees Hall, where Robin Hood is said to have been burried. Robin Hood is said to have spent his final days in a local priory and fired an arrow to show where he wanted to be burried. The actual site is marked with a headstone however due to the distance from the priory it is unlikely that this is true.
